I'm sure a lot of you have heard/seen this story already, but I think it's important that this video/story spreads to as many people as possible.
At approximately 2:15 AM PST, BART Police (Bay Area Rapid Transit) officers held Grant in a face-down position on a train platform at the Fruitvale BART Station, when Officer Johannes Mehserle shot Grant at point-blank range in the back.[1] Grant died seven hours later at Highland Hospital.
A theory going around is that Mehserle meant to pull out his taser. If a man is handcuffed, face down with an officer holding him down, and he's showing no resistance whatsoever, why would you need to use your taser? In fact, why would you need to pull it out when it's clearly not that kind of situation?
2nd degree murder or involuntary manslaughter?
either way, it's a messed up situation.
